I have been corresponding with a medical professional and have attempted to devise a serious poll, scientific enough (we hope) for the results to be published in medical literature.
It is my hope that this will be a small step toward legitimizing the status of voluntary eunuchs in the public eye.
I have placed the polls on my web site http://www.geocities.com/gfarrells/.
There are three polls:
Poll 1: Castration status
Poll 2: Why I have not been castrated.
Poll 3: Why I want to be castrated.
Please give a minute to these questionnaires and please try to answer as truthfully as possible.
Mail responses to gfarrells@yahoo.com
Please put the word "poll" in the subject line.
All identities and/or email addresses will be kept confidential.
These polls will be posted to several web sites. Please do not reply to the same poll multiple times.
Statistical data will be posted to the EA and to my web site as it accumulates.
The more respondents we have to the polls the more useful the data will be for researchers. If you know of anyone else who might be interested in filling out a poll, please forward this to them or direct them to my web site at:

Thanks,
Farrell Squire

I got to your web site OK. I clicked to go to the poll pages. Now the problem. The windows don't scroll. I click on the "down" arrow to scroll the writing down, and it doesn't work. Of course I will be poll #1.

The poll windows scroll for me. However, they need to be interactive with selections. It is too hard to respond via separate e-mail.

Re: Poll for Possible Publication
Im sorry you couldnt get the text boxes to scroll. Ive had one other person experience that problem so far. He thinks the problem is with Internet Explorer version 5.1. Apparently the scrolling works with other versions of Explorer and with Netscape.
These polls are also posted in the files area of my two Yahoo groups
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/eandmlifestyle/
and
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/psychemasculation/
You have to have a Yahoo account to join the groups, but its free (you can give them a fake name and address).
Perhaps I should post the polls to the story board here at the EA so they will be more accessible to members. (I could remove the text boxes from my web site and just post links to the EA story board!) I wont do this without Bboys permission.
Yes, I would have preferred to have an interactive poll that didnt require response by email. Yahoo has a feature like that with their groups. The problem is that Yahoos format wont allow correlating demographic data with the other responses. To make the results publishable, I need to correlate age group and education level with the response given by each individual. I surfed the web for free polling services and found about a dozen similar to Yahoos. None of them would correlate multiple sets of data. Since Im not a programmer and I dont have the funds to hire a software company to develop the software, I was forced to go this route.
Im still working on a way to squeeze all the proper questions into Yahoos format. One advantage of posting the polls outside the Yahoo group is that anyone can respond. As I mentioned above, a person must have a Yahoo account to respond to a poll in a Yahoo group. This isnt necessary to access a Geocities website - even though that service is part of Yahoo.
I hope this explains why I took this approach. Suggestions are always appreciated.
Farrell

As you can see from my signature, I use the AOL web browser. In any case, for your poll, see if what I write here matches anything you put on the board.
I was castrated at age 56 for control of libido, and I am quite happy that not only did my libido problems end, I have also developed this "Eunuch Calm"

Re: Poll for Possible Publication
Your three questions...
Pre-supposes things about everyone here.
There are some here who had no choice, who have not been or do not want to be, who do not care to be or who are not male. Maybe some are not here for any of these reasons.
Maybe what we should be asking is if the Medical field has a legitimate reason to deny a man wanting a castration his desires when they do so many breast augmentations, liposuctions, facelifts, diet prescriptions and so forth.
Maybe somebody needs to analyze their desire to control people and to make tons of money while they are at it.
