Hello
I have been taking 150mg of Androcur a day for the last four weeks, I think I am ready to start a lower dosage of 100mg per day. My limbo is gone I do not have the desire to masturbate. I have not experienced some of the common side effects mentioned in the threads. I have not had hot flashes, I do not feel weak and low on energy. However, I am experiencing one of the less common side effects mentioned on the drug manufactories web side. I am experiencing back pain, like I have a pinched nerve in my lower back. Sometime if is hard to get out of bed. Can anyone relate?
One month on Androcur

Re: One month on Androcur
Great that it is working well for you. Many of the side effects do not happen in the beginning. Give it time. Going to 100mg sounds good. Keep track on how much or not any changes take place. The back problem may be related to androcur. But it is not something that I can remember anyone experiencing.

Re: One month on Androcur
I must have missed back pain when reading the brochure from the Androcur manufacturer. But yes I did develop back pain over the course of my 4 years or so on Androcur.
The back pain to me was not very serious. It comes and goes.
For me, energy loss, weigh gains, feminization and emotional mood swings and bouts of crying started at 4 to 6 months into the Androcur regimen, getting worse over time. Anemia started at about 2 years. Back pain at about 3rd or 4th year.
But then, all along, I was on a lower dose than you. I did 200 mg only for about a week or so. Most of the time, I was on 100 mg, then 50 mg, and then 25 mg for the last year. I have supplemented Androcur sometimes with estrogen gel to speed up the castration process. But since I never wanted to grow breasts, when the breast growth seems too much, I would stop estrogen and start on Tamoxifen.
I have been completely off of Androcur for nearly 10 months already and all other chemicals for about 6 months. Most of the side effects are gone. My energy is back, anemia gone, emotional swings and crying bouts are gone.
Of course, the weight I gained in the process is still with me, though I am getting back onto some exercise routine now. I still have my occasional back pain, which is, like you described, like a pinched nerve at my lower back. But it is not debilitating. Feminization seems to continue.
I currently have a low level of libido, getting the urge maybe twice a month. I can cum, actually easier than before. During sex or even while cumming, my penis only gets a bit bigger but stays soft most of the time.
Most significant to me is that my genitals stayed much smaller than original -- my original objective.
Net net, I am very happy with my current state.

Think the back pain could be more to do to age or inactivity. Eunuch life does change your interests, activity levels and emotions.
If androcur has lowered your testosterone to castration levels, taking estrogen can not make any changes in hormone level. It will have more feminizing effects then with androcur. You may not be fully shut down in testosterone. Reducing the androcur over time, you may not notice the changes. Would be good to get your hormone levels checked. It is the only real way to know your hormone level. The feelings are not always a true measure of levels.
Great to see that you are happy with the effects. Wish you a happy life as an eunuch.
