When it comes to Robertson and his ilk I'm with St Paul. "...what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? ...Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate..."

Someone should form a "God anti-defamation league" to defend His reputation from the slanders of his so called messengers.

This Pat Robertson guy is certainly a blowhard and shouldn't have any attention paid to him. This problem was not caused by any god, it was caused by tectonic plate movement. The solution can only be found in the actions of people, I just hope that it is the right response.

I agree, the right response is to do what we can, give money, I sent some not much but what I could afford, there are lots of sites to do this, I sent mine to one set up by Bill Clinton. This is not a republican or democrat issue, nor a right or left issue, its a human issue.

Watching the news tonight brought me to tiers, one of the poorest countries on earth and they just need a break, a bit of good luck, as one person said tonight this is a country that is looking forward to moving up into poverty its better then what they have, we all must help its the way we are, its what makes us different from animals.

Haitian Ambassador Answers Pat Robertson

By Julie Bolcer

Haiti’s ambassador to the United States appeared on The Rachel Maddow Show on Wednesday and debunked comments from televangelist Pat Robertson, who blamed the country’s devastating earthquake on the 18th-century slave revolt against the French.

Earlier, Robertson said on The700 Club that the earthquake was caused by a pact with the devil made when Haitian slaves launched their successful revolt against the French colonial power in the late 1700s.

devil," said Robertson. "They said, 'We will serve you if you will get us free from the French.'"

Ambassador Joseph deflated the remark by explaining how the slave revolt, which led to Haitian independence, allowed the United States to make its purchase of the Louisiana Territory, and propelled Latin American countries toward independence.

“So, what pact the Haitians made with the devil has helped the United States become what it is," said Joseph.

Þórr and Óðinn (Þunor and Wōden in Old English, Dunar and Wuotan in Old High German) are mythical beings much like Jehovah, El, and Allah, and no, you shouldn’t be worried. None of them had anything to do with Haiti and none will have anything to do with Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Oral Roberts, Billy Graham, or Anita Bryant. Nor have they ever come to anyone’s rescue or aid.

Only Wōden has any living descendents today.

Pat Robertson is judgMENTAL!

If he truly possessed the Holy Ghost he would feel compassion and he would attempt to send aid and comfort. Does he have the courage to answer the question, "What would Jesus do?" about this disaster?

NO!

Instead he judges the whole country and justifies himself with Old Testament tradition.

I suggest that if you TRULY want to know the story, avail yourself to a copy of James A. Michener's historical novel "Caribbean" and see why the slaves in Haiti revolted against the institution of slavery on that island.

Pat Roberson is an old, bitter man. May Jesus Christ have mercy on his soul. He is just as much a sinner as any who frequent this site.

The only trouble with that old man is that he is so greedy that he is jealous of the money that is being sent to Haiti. He expects his followers to send it to him instead. So, he makes his statement to his viewers so that they don't have to feel guilty for sending him the money instead of sending money for Haiti's earthquake relief.

Not only is Pat Robertson a bitter old man, he is a GREEDY OLD MAN...

IF there was a god, and IF he/she believed in justice, there would be an earthquake of about 8.5 directly under Pat Robertson's house, not effecting his neighbors at all, just him, not to kill him but leave him trapped for a week under his bed where he was hiding, crushing his arms and legs so that they all would be amputated to keep him alive, if there were a god.

Don't demand justice too loudly. If there were justice for all few of us would escape whipping.

Oh I could not agree more, the difference is most of us admit it when were wrong and do the Bible Christian thing of asking for forgiveness.
