Alternate State Mottos
The State Motto of Califo-nia is "Eureka".
That goes back to the Gold Rush days.
I figure the motto for the 21st century should be, "Paradise".
This was concluded as I chatted with a member from Michigan, State motto:
"Si quaeris peninsulam amoenam circumspice."
(If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you.)
and concluded an appropriate State Motto for Michigan might be,
"Why Bother".
Any ideas on current and better suited to the 21st Century State Mottos?
Moi
Pass the lotus of forgetfulness, please.
Paradise = Califo-nia. And here, people forget.

Hey, you are impinging on Arkansas!
Kansas: To the stars fueled by frito-chilli-cheese bowls.
Maine: Eunuchy deeds, womanly words.
Minnesota: The bar of the north.
No change to New Mexico: It grows as it goes.

As one who appreciates, Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, his deeds were hardly, Eunuchy. Although in 1864 he did suffer this, pelvic wound that required he wear a catheter the rest of his life. A 19th century catheter, major ouch. Maybe he did end up a eunuch? So, eunuch = Maine.
" From the time of his serious wound in 1864 until his death, he was forced to wear an early form of a catheter with a bag and underwent six operations to try to correct the original wound and stop the fevers and infections that plagued him, without success."

history lover. not her-story
Eunuchy deeds, I am well aware someone may respond with a list of great military leaders who were, eunuchs. Ok, I'm ready.

Re: Alternate State Mottos
Decades ago I moved from a border town (Mexico, not Canada) to northern Nevada. It was 112 the day I left. When I got there, the small talk comment was: hot enough for you? They were not prepared for my response.
All southern border states: Hot enough yet?
or
Here, let me add some more jalapenos.
