Hello good people. I am an American white heterosexual male, mid-20s, 6'5" and 235 pounds, who suffers from an out of control libido. I have kind of an odd request, I would like to eliminate, or at least drastically reduce my sex drive. The catch is that I don't want to lose any sexual FUNCTION at all, just DESIRE. Also, I do not want any feminizing effects, or loss of testosterone, since i am a bodybuilder and need it for my physique. So I guess that pretty much rules out any surgical options, and probably most of the drugs I've heard of. I've thought about the possibility of some kind of post-hypnotic suggestion that would re-direct my sex drive in other directions, but don't even know if that idea's realistic or not. Do any of you know of any methods that might achieve these goals? There is all kinds of info out there about BOOSTING sexual desire, but this is the only site I ever found that talks at alll about doing away with it.

Aside from surgical or chemical castration (which is, after all, what this forum is really all about), I have NO idea what could help you with your goals.

Well from what I recall "SSRI" type drugs would probably be the closest thing for accomplishing what you want. I am no expert at all on SSRI drugs.

But you can perform a Search by typing SSRI and I found 7 threads that had SSRI drugs mentioned in them. You might also want to use Google (http://www.google.com/) to search for information on SSRI drugs.

I am taking Celexa and it changed my life within a couple days of taking it. Sexual obsession fadess away, but there is no problem performing. I ACTUALLY PERFORM BETTER BECAUSE I CAN LAST A LOT LONGER BEFORE ORGASM.

TO GET AN SSRI, SIMPLY TELL YOUR GENERAL PRACTICIONER THAT YOU HAVE A SEXUAL OBSESSION THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO DISCUSS WITH A PSYCHIATRIST. PSYCHIATRISTS WILL PRESCRIBE SSRIS FOR ANY PARAPHILIA INCLUDING GENERAL SEX ADDICTION.

They do warn about sexual side effects with that group of anti-depressants. I wonder if this is experienced by everyone taking them.

Wellbutrin (aka Zyban) is not an SSRI but can have mimicing effects. More often, it will make one very horny, without the ability to get off.

Well, it didn't do that for me!

VI thinks that Welbutrin is the neatest thing since sliced bread! I'm not a jerk or a mopey, moody, nasty grouch.
