Yes. I did that once Moi. Slipped down the steps carrying boiling water to thaw out the car hood at -14f. Missed a week of work cause of the 2nd degree burns and spent the night in the hospital with a morphine drip.

I guess my shooting myself in the face with windshield de-icer spray pales in comparison.

The good news is, I'm out of the house! Dug enough of a path for the truck to back it out of the garage, move it forward to engage the 4wd, let it warm up for 15 minutes in advance, then threw her in reverse and stomped the accelerator. Amazingly, 14" of snow is not enough to stop this truck.

The roads are passable, snow packed, but with nice walls of plowed snow, so that if you slide, you're like a ball in a pinball machine. You can't really run off the road.

You can't see pavement on the highways, either, but they're plowed.

I've got all my bad habits restocked, no work tomorrow either, and I'm making a coconut flour crust pizza tonight. Serving a fine red wine from Jesus with it - aged 8 years in the dark to utter perfection!

Wish you were here...

Nope. Slipped on a step.

Is that worse than falling through a rotten porch, up to your chest, and being stuck in a hole while "my fucking gravy!" is more important than your health or rescue?!

My Niece posted a picture of a bunch of kids skating. One of her kid's teammates made a hockey pond in his backyard. That's neat!

It hasn't been cold enough in years to create a backyard hockey rink for pickup teams.

Cold is when New Yorkers don't need a Brooklyn Bridge, because they can walk across the ice. Late 1700's I think.

Or how about the canals of Amsterdam freezing ala Hans Brinker and the Silver Skates.

What cold?

We live in the warmth of an interglacial period.

Support Green House Gas production. Do your part to help ward off the coming glaciation.
