Good sex while on CA?
I'm hoping to tap into the collective experience and knowledge of EA members with my question.
I've been on 50 mg/day of Cyproterone Acetate for 7 weeks, and have felt a clear subsiding of my libido and sexual responsiveness--with no side effects that I'm aware of. This is what I am seeking, and I find that my course of action is surprisingly effective.
I am in a good marriage with a loving woman, and although she doesn't desire sex very often, when she does, I am keen on pleasing her. Having had increasing degrees of ED in recent years (before the CA--I'm 52), I know that my lack of hard erections is not really a problem for her sexual satisfaction.
However, I am at a new low with weak erections, now to the point of not even being able to enter her.
All the other means to sexually pleasing her notwithstanding (which we use freely), is there anything I can do to achieve good erections for short periods so as to offer her that pleasure? Viagra/Cialis? Topical testosterone?
I am very aware of the irony and contradiction of my seeking such help while on a course of antiandrogen. I guess I could be accused of wanting to have my cake and eat it too. Just thought I'd ask!

I have known transsexuals that were on T-blockers and then used viagra to have sex with the wife. So it's not as uncommon as one may think. It's problem solving. Their wives understood that they did not want testosterone in their system, but still wanted penetrative sex at times.
It sounds like you want to be free from a strong sex drive and yet you want to be able to satisfy your SO in a way she wants to be, when those times happen.
I don't see it as having your cake and eating it too. I see it as problem solving. Talk to your doctor and explain to him/her what you want to accomplish and why. I believe they will help you. And if they don't, change doctors and find one who will.

It seems to be counterproductive if one wants to reduce one's sex drive to still want to have sex just like before. After almost a year on siterone, I can still get hard enough, with my wife's manipulations, to satisfy her sexually.

Papavarine is injected into the penis. It is not well tolerated by everyone and there is sometimes a reluctance to do the injections as they can be painful or the process of injection can interfere with a couple's mood for sex. --FLO--

Muse is pretty much worthless, however injectable alprostadil (aka prostglandin, prostin) works very well for many men. Paparavine is an enzyme which is closely related to meat tenderizer. It is a bit more difficult to use than prostglandin injections, but many men report good results. A prescription for Tri-Mix which combines three drugs - papaverine, phentolamine, and prostaglandin - will make anyone with a pulse erect.

Re: Good sex while on CA?
I guess I would first suggest you have your wife "consider" HRT instead of castrating yourself but...
Anyhow, Muse can work. I think its better with Actis (A constriction Band)
Injections can give you a very strong erection. Pain wise the trick is to use the smaller syringes. 30 gauge are far easier to use then say a 26 or 27 OUCH! The drug itself can cause pain. Caverject being the worst I think. Trimix is a good trade off where you get hard erections and little pain depending of course on the mix. *And that takes some feedback to the Uro. Bimix is pain free from reports I've heard its maybe not always as effective however.
A Vacuum Erection Device (A medical Penile pump) works for nearly everyone. Osbon, Rejoyn, and others. Talk to your Doctor. A prescription for one can bring the cost down to nearly zero. The trick with these is the proper penile constriction band(s) Expect to spend a hour or more trying the different bands to see which one(s) are needed to keep you erect. These work for up to 30 minutes which is probably overkill but can be fun if your wife is used to little to nothing.
Viagra, Cialis, Levitra are all possibilities but if you have side effects or they are not effective DO tell your doctor so you can try a different dose and or drug. Don't buy that crap from the internet. Its probably sheetrock or an Herb called Yombee that "works" by rising your blood pressure to insane levels.
If all else fails look at buying a strapon dildo a penile sheath or splint. It never goes flacid even if you are. And it lends some variety for your wife.

Re: Good sex while on CA?
You have all been so very helpful--thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. I am exploring several of the ideas you offered, and since I already had Cialis on hand, I tried that first, with surprising success, just last week. I plan to talk to my doctor this week about Tri-Mix.
You've helped me open up my thinking, and I'm grateful. Problem-solving--that's a good attitude to use.

Re: Good sex while on CA?
If Cialis works don't get into injection drugs. The steps are
Oral Drugs (Tablets)
VED (Vacuum Erection device)
Injection Drugs (Trimix etc)
Penile Prosthesis (Implant Surgery)
If I can suggest this have your wife look into doing Bio Identical Hormone Replacement therapy. This is not synthetic or un-natural. But real human hormones. She might find that the results will give her better energy, mood, and of course sexual drive.
I understand her reluctance to use synthetic hormones and such but how natural is it for you to take drugs that chemically castrate you? BioIdentical replacement is simply replacing hormones that are lost in menopause with human identical ones.
And of course you might find that you won't need ED drugs to perform and can appreciate and enjoy sex again!
