Castration and scalp hair
Hello there,
I'm taking androcur (siterone) for about four months now and I think that scalp hair growth is a bit faster. Now I'm trying to grow my hair and see how it goes. Does anyone have any experience with hair growth speed and anti-androgens? I'm not talking about baldness but hair you already have.

Re: Castration and scalp hair
One should not take Siterone (or seek physical castration) to minimize hair loss. Siterone is a powerful hormone suppressant drug that can have significant and potentially detrimental temporary and long lasting effects. Assuming you are taking siterone to reduce sex drive your best bet for minimizing hair loss is to apply Rogaine to your scalp. Have a scalp specialist actually do a hair count and thickness analysis.

Re: Castration and scalp hair
I just got on legit HRT last week. Even though I've already had my orchiectomy, the doctor prescribed me spironolactone to go with the estradiol. I'm anxious to see how this turns out. I didn't expect to be given the spironolactone, so I'm wondering if it's to prevent any testosterone that might metabolize from excess estradiol levels.

I would guess it's to nip away your adrenal T. And I don't think that excess E turns into T.

Usually, it is excess T turning into E...

Re: Castration and scalp hair
At fifty years old, I am the only technical "male" from either side of my family to not have any baldness whatsoever, having a full head of very thick hair without hardly even an "M" line. I have been questioned about this from those who want to know what my "secret" is. And all I can say is that some of it has to do with having an extra 'X' chromosome but that probably most of it has to do with not having had enough testoterone in my life which I suppose goes back to that extra chromosome too. However with me being perhaps the most energetic of anyone it's a little hard for anyone to imagine that I could have ever had too little testosterone in my life. So if I have never married nor even bothered myself with having to have a girlfiriend (or boyfriend) at most times in my life then one could claim that it's marriage that gives one baldness too. But I have to think that it has something to do with the T.

I dont recomend taking androgens for hair loss, but it is a nice side effect.

No one prescribes androgens for hair loss. Anti-androgens, perhaps...
