Promised rain these next days looks like a fizzle to a drizzle.

All because some members don't want Califo-nia to have more rain.

Oh, my foothill road has a mud slide.

Well yesterdays and today's storm is a fizzle.

Poor mud slide prone fold evacuated although often the mud doesn't slide until days or in the case of Laguna Beach, weeks, after the last rain.

When the wet finally soaks down and lubricates any anchor function left in the stoneless hillside. But, they won't keep people out of their homes for that. Or the boulder that may loose its' footing and tumble into a home as killed a child some years back about twenty miles from me.

It does not all happen during the rain. The evacuations are plainly, stupid.

Had they seeded the hills with rye grass seed as they use to in the old days, the earlier light rains would have created a good root system foundation by now. How easily they forget the 50's when things, worked.

Hello EA Nation and all those in Winter Wonderland, aka Blizzard country.

There is a possibility of a light rain tonight and over the next night but my bet is it will fizzle and just become a power storm for places east of Califo-nia.

Then Saturday and Sunday, they say a stronger colder rain will come through. Probably end up being just a cold and quarter incher storm. But, a more powerful storm for our Blizzard prone members. Looks like you East of Califo-nia folks are in for a week of more intense, Winter Wonderland.

Between Wisconsin and Western Pennsylvania, Baltimore and Maine - what road will these storms take. Any bets?

My Mission Fig tree started to make leaves then all of a sudden, thumb tip like fig fruits have appeared. Some Cherry blossoms have developed fruit. The Loquats are just beginning to turn yellow. The Lemons just need a few days of sunshine to be totally yellow and juicy while making new buds too

No news on the Fuji Apple or Leechee. They remain dormant. The Royal Apricot is beginning to flower and the Avocado blossoms seem to be on stand by.

Now you did it. I had to look up Loquat. At least they are not a variety of the detested Kumquat. Figs grow on trees? I thought they grew in plastic containers. After a week of above freezing temps about half my fire hydrant is visable above the snow. --FLO--

Loquats are yummy and sweet when picked at the right time.

About two bites. Some eat the skin, some peel them.

Here the trees grow like weeds and trees just sprout up from natural spread.

The fruit do not ripen or keep well once picked.

Our Yoli had Loquat trees and we discussed them and their nature.

(Oh, Yoli - we could have worked something out)

On topic, the big bad rain storm is not going to rain much they say now.

I was so hoping for rain Sunday night.

And the last two rain events were non events. Not wet ones anyways.

Please, wish for rain to Southern Califo-nia.
