I would greatly appreciate your help on this topic. I am very new to the eunuch forums, but have thought about chemical castration for about 2 years now. I have a few concerns and would like to visit with someone (youre welcome to email me directly) who is very familiar with this topic.
I am 43, heterosexual, divorced, 2 teenaged kids, vasectomized, and have a good relationship with a wonderful woman. Neither of us has any fantasies about eunuchism or any subcultural or kinky interests in this forum. Rather, I consider my sex drive too high for my standards and my partners. I frequently want to reach orgasm 2-3 time daily. This is way too much activity for my partner, and frankly, it gets tiring and unproductive having to release myself so often. I dont have any religious hang-ups with sex. I just want to have more time to devote to personal enrichment, learning, and work. My belief is that if I could just tone down the libido, then I would strike a better balance with my personal goals.
1. My primary concern about chemical castration is how similar it might be to taking the anti-depressant Paxil. I was prescribed Paxil and took it diligently for about 2 years (this was about 9 years ago). Although I could appreciate the reduction in mood swings, and thus an improvement in my total mental state, I absolutely hated the effect on my sex-drive. I wanted so much to get my daily release, but couldnt stay aroused enough to complete the orgasm. This makes me wonder about the difference between psychological desire and chemical desire. Would Depo (or any castration drug) cause me the same angst or frustration that my mind is giving me? Or would this be totally different?
2. What are the chances that I could get a doctor to authorize such a prescription? I would think that a doctor would laugh in my face.
3. If I were to start very slowly with a lower amount of drug, say Depo, how quickly would my normal self recover if I decided that this lifestyle wasnt for me?
4. Are there other hetero couples who have benefitted from such a regimen?
5. I would also appreciate that chemical treatment may also reduce daily anxiety. Are there any out there that would like to comment?
Thanks a lot for your help!
Newbie, are there others with too much sex on brain?

Re: Newbie, are there others with too much sex on brain?
Hi grassman, and welcome to the EA.
I am also a hetro male. 54, married, and we have a teenage son. My wife is 4 years my senior and has low sex drive due to menopause. Over the last 5-6 years, treatments for her breast cancer have left her with an even lower sex drive, so we're dealing with quite a mismatch.
I have never taken depo provira, or paxil, so I can't comment on the differences between their effects, but I have taken cyproterone acetate, although not for long enough to get used to the effects. I therefore don't think I'm really qualified to comment on how it'll make you feel. But from what I read here I would say that chemical castration is unlikely to take your mind off sex completely, as thinking about sex is a habit for a lot of us. On a more positive note, there are several married 'chemical eunuchs' here who seem to be in happy, supportive relationships. The best you can to is read as much as you can, but do bear in mind that fiction (sadly) cannot be reliably restricted to the story archive.

The only thing I can say is...
I am Pristiq (antidepressent) and I really have to work at it to go all the way.
Also, Men think of sex every other second but women think of it maybe once a week, so it is not just you but human genetics.

Call me strange but I too have a strong libido. What is wrong with masturbating to relieve the urge ? If you are like most white blooded males this only takes a few minutes.
I work three jobs right now and have never viewed the need to cum a lot as that big of a distraction from living a normal productive life

I did the math lets say you beat off 5 times a day:
5 X 5 minutes = 25 minutes total. Less time than it takes to go out to lunch. Come on people stop the drama already

The problem is that its not like you can dial down your sex drive to once a day or whatever. Its on or its off. And with it comes the baggage. Mood issues (Depression) loss of energy. Weight gain, The ability to take care of things and finish things evaporates. Reading a book may become too much "trouble" and so forth.
Why not look at ways of increasing your wifes sex drive or just take care of yourself as Mr Testicles suggests?

Five minutes! Some people shoot in five seconds and others takes five hours! It seems the older you get the longer it takes to shoot the load.

Re: Newbie, are there others with too much sex on brain?
I actually found antidepressants (Celexa in my case) did the right thing -- I went from masturbating about 10 times per day (I'm also multi-orgasmic so each masturbation would be three to even eleven orgasms) to only really still needing to do it about once every four or five days. It made a big difference for me -- from feeling controlled by my desire, to having something I could manage.
Celexa caused no problem for me in terms of getting it up, so pretty much I had the opposite experience as the thread starter -- my libido went down but my ability to do the deed was still intact. Actually, I think it did delay my orgasms as well, but that was actually a bonus, because then I could last for a while and actually satisfy the wife.
