You have the mantel of wisdom and sagacity. Just can't park anyone's nuggets on it!

In a letter to the editor published in a recent edition of an archeology magazine, a reader recounts flying back from a conference in Europe seated next to a Nicaraguan archeologist. The Nicaraguan was of Mayan descent, as close as you can come to real Mayan, and the reader could not resist asking him about the 2012 hoopla. The Mayan's reply, "Where do they come up with all this crap?"

Some years may have resulted in an annual surplus but this country has not been free of debt (for I would guess well over a century). Definately not since the start of WW2 in 1941.

Mac, history 101, This country has always had debt, from day one, its part of our system its part of who we are, I believe it was Hamilton who set up the stock market and said debt was a good thing and its been that way ever sense. Look it up.

I was going to say that but thought that somebody would ask me to prove it.
