Dhea

Post by Milkman (imported) »

One eunuch I know has been taking the nutritional supplement DHEA since the first week he was castrated. He has been a eunuch for 5 years now. He says he has not gained weight, nor experienced any feminizing despite not taking male hormones. He also has no sex drive whatsoever, which was his major goal. Have any of the other eunuchs on here taken DHEA, and if so what has been the results?

I had my testosterone and DHEA levels checked after being on 50mg of siterone a day for three months. My testosterone was 76/mg/dl, or borderline deficient, but more importantly, my DHEA level was significantly deficient. I immediately began taking a 25mg DHEA supplement daily and found that I was less tired and had more energy.

Recently, I had my testosterone level checked again after nine months and after I had increased my siterone intake to 100mg daily. My testosterone level had increased to 102/mg/dl. I attribute this to my intake of DHEA. I have no weight gain or feminization; however, I also 20mg of Tamoxifen.

I have almost no sex drive and no longer think about it. (I'm currently on 75mg of siterone but probably will reduce it back to 50mg again.)

can someone tell me what DHEA is, it sounds like a good thing, but does it really increase T-Level. would you have to increase the amount of siterone you take to off set it.

There's quite a bit of information about DHEA and the benefits of taking a DHEA supplement on the web. From my experience, taking a DHEA supplement seems to have raised my testosterone level while also taking Siterone. However, I still experience all the effects of low T except that 25mg of DHEA has helped to alleviate my tired feeling and lack of energy.

Thanks for this info; I will add it to my list of things to try.

Regarding mg/dl, age is a variable in whether or not one is above or below deficient. I didn't check to see if your age is listed on your profile.

Being tired, listless, and with low energy was a big problem for me when I was T-deficient and was the main reason I agreed to start T-supplement (last year). T-supplement definitely helped me get rid of loss of energy, concentration problems, etc. but I didn't like the sexual side effects.

This year, while on Siterone and off T-supplement the lack of sex drive was very agreeable. Something on some web site enticed me to take DHEA and I did not experience energy loss while on Siterone.

I did not link DHEA to energy until I read your posting. When I start up Siterone again next year I will definitely continue DHEA and I guess I should consider taking Tamoxifen too, but I worry about taking too many drugs and overlapping side effects.

So i did some searching on the web, and it seems like the main point of DHEA is to raise hormone leveles of E & T, and if you are taking siterone which is blocking the production of T then you end up really taking E. Let me know if i have this wrong.

thanks

With your T level upto a 100 do you find yourself having nightime erections or spontaneous erections

I take DHEA and have since even before my Orcheictomy. It helps me sleep and feel rested. Pill forms in males tend to convert to Estrogen in my experience and for women it tends to convert to Testosterone. One way to avoid that is to do a rub on cream (compounded) or a patch.

No, nothing, even if I try. As mrt suggests, it seems to help me sleep better too.
