Do you happen to know what equivelant Estrofem dosage would provide the same blood concentrations of Estodiol as does what I am presently taking (0.9mG Premarin x 1 per day)? The importance of that question arises out of the fact that it took years to finally zoom - in on a reasonable dose of Premarin (titration) and I would want not want to go through that process again. It would be great to just switch over and have the same effect from the get-go.
All the best,
Danielle
Hi Danielle!
Premarin is conjugated (mixed) estrogens and .9mG seems (to me, anyway) like a low dose. Estrofem is available in either 1 mG or 2mG dosages. Sub-lingual delivery provides approximately 80% efficacy, so taking a single 1mG tablet every day would provide you approximately .8mG of 17-beta estradiol, relatively close to your current dose of Premarin. If you find that to be a problem (too little Estrogen) you could take one 2mG tablet per day, or a 1mG tablet twice per day, delivering approximately 1.6mG of estradiol.
Of course, you could simply continue taking Premarin, especially if you're already pleased with your results. After all, it's your decision, and you're the person who has to stay satisfied.
