Congratulations!!
Took me almost 30 years to get a doctor to remove them. I sympathize with your situation, but will caution others to not try this at home, it is very very dangerous.

Yeah, it's a scary thing to do, and things easily could have gone wrong in so many ways, but I'm so glad I did it, I feel really empowered.

I can understand your desperation. I was working in a hospital when I was castrated. Not in the hospital but by a cutter in a motel room. A urologist I had become friends with was so closed to discussing eunuchs and castrations that I knew he could be of no help. I was also afraid of losing my job if my needs and desires were known. So yes I understand your frustration of working within the medical community.
I am glad you are alive and well. I have been a eunuch for over a decade now and it has been the best thing for me and I hope it is just as good for you. Welcome to a fine community of folks of all kinds.

Well, congratulations for achieving the goal, even though it is indeed sad it has to be done in the way it was (i.e. alone and risky).
But don't celebrate too early -- it can only be deemed a success after the risk of infection is gone, there is no phantom pain, the scarring and healing work out well and become fully comfortable, and ultimately that the end result is what you hoped it would be (and free from depression, loss of energy, etc).
I'm not trying to be pessimistic, just saying definitely treat the whole thing properly in terms of healing for the next few weeks to ensure the best result and keep us up to date with the progress of adjusting to being a eunuch.

Yeah, I'm lucky being in an university environment, I've already come out to my PhD supervisors and they're totally supportive, they said to just take a few weeks off to rest and heal.
The soreness is gone, I'm able to walk and there's no infection or phantom pain at present. Fortunately there happened to be a very good plastic surgeon on call there that night.

You must have been truly desperate to do this to yourself. I hope this case highlights the need to make available better treatment options for people who need castration. If the doctors won't do anything then people end up taking the matter into their own hands and going to the extreme lengths of performing life-threatening surgery on themselves. I'm glad you got your happy ending ghostautumn, it's just a shame it had to be this way.

We warn people away from self-surgery or non-doctor based surgery because there is a good chance that they hurt themselves or die. I would still advise anyone not to do this themselves. There is a lot of bleeding and that can kill. Also infection and scar tissue are issues. You seem to have succeeded. congratulations and enjoy your new "state"...

COngragulations, so it sounds like you may start some type of HRT?
I like the Gels the best for me because it mimics a young males hormones best. I know you may be looking for female homrones from the sound of it.
I am glad you are ok and take care of yourself.

I did it myself last night: clamped and tied them off from most of the night and next day (with elastics and a soldering clamp) until they were multiple shades of purple and necrotic, then cut them off with a just-out-of-the-package carving knife and just out-of-the-package scissors, then immediately called for an ambulance and rushed to the front door of my apartment building. I lost a LOT of blood, but the wounds were very smooth and clean, and there was a plastic surgeon at the hospital who patched me up perfectly - cut the nerves off up high like you're supposed to, put in a funnel overnight, and sewed it up very well. Everyone at the hospital was very nice and understanding, including the psychiatrists who listened to my explanation and cleared me to going home. They even gave me cab vouchers to get me home and to my appointment with my endocrinologist tomorrow, and all the supplies I'll need to change the dressings.
I don't recommend anyone else do this, there are a lot of other options if you have a job and can save up for the surgery (or if you're a transsexual with medical insurance/actual healthcare). In my case I'd spent eight years pursuing all options only to be thwarted at each step by a willfully-ignorant medical establishment (the bureaucrats, not the good psychiatrists, doctors and nurses on the front lines) and a neo-conservative state. Certainly I could have died, but I made the decision to risk my life in order to assert self-determination over my body, and fortunately it all worked out well for me. I've just gotten home now (the next day) so I'd like to just rest, but I will endeavour to post daily updates on my status here.
