Hello,
I am 18 years old and would like to start chemical castration. Self treatment is not an option since I cannot order anti-androgens online without having to show prescription due to laws in my country. Therefore I am going to obtain them the hard ( but safe ) way. Having read posts here, I believe I am supposed to go to a gender therapist or a psychiatrist that deals with gender issues. However, after a thorough research, I am not sure that they exist in my country or what title they may go under here.
Yes it sounds strange, but I am pretty sure about gender therapists not being available here although the right psychiatrist might possibly be. I have only been able to look up 'clinical psychiatrists' or other normal psychiatrists that deal with anger issues, obsessions, depression etc. I cannot just make an appointment with one of those and then bring up my case which is unlike anything they've taken on before, can I?
I know that some of you have simply gone to a doctor and have him take care of you, regardless of whether he has taken care of cases like this or not. Perhaps that would be my best option, seeing that approaching the other two types of professionals is much more obscure.
Would I be going to just any doctor or should I prefer going to my 'family doctor'? I would prefer not to see him about this as he has known everyone in the family for years, although we don't see him that often. However, it is no barrier so if you think I should see him specifically, I will.
As you can see, I am rather lost here so I will welcome any comments and tips even though most of you live in a country where there is a lot of more options which makes things more simple ( whether speaking about self treatment or the other way ).
The reason I wish to undergo this is that I have no interest in having testosterone in my body as I perceive it as poison that is slowly changing me into something I have no inclination to be. It is relevant that I state I am chaste and asexual and don't drink or anything. Basically, my interests have not changed much since earlier childhood and I feel very lost at school where everyone loves to talk about things like who they kissed at the last dance or party and so on. I do show up at parties occasionally though since I like meeting my friends and it can be fun to meet them in their preferred environment. As you can see in my profile, I am looking for eunuch calm ( although I am awfully calm by nature ), perhaps a little smoother looks and overall preservation of youth(fulness) as for as long as possible. I wish to pursue my true interests and nurture and cherish them but not 'lose half of my time' like most people do, often starting when they're around my age ( note I wrote half of my time but not life since even I think the latter is a little extreme and offending although it does mean the same pretty much ).
NOTE: These are not fantasies. I posted here because this forum is also called 'Introductions' so I thought it was relevant to put my first post here. Why are Fantasies and Introductions under the same forum?

Welcome to the Archive.
I am sure that there is some type of psychologist or psychiatrist that you could see. Do you have any transsexual doctors that you know of. That type of doctor/psychologist/psychiatrist would be what you need.
I am not sure that you know of all the other side effects of castration. The eunuch clam is not always something that you may get. You will change but may not be what you expect.
Would think about this far more.

I know that all positive and negative effects vary and I am aware that I will experience hot flashes, depression, weight gain, some breast enlargement, loss of muscle mass and more. I do not know about every effect yet but it is further masculinization that I fear more than anything else so I do not think that there is anything that will make me change my mind even though some of those effects might affect my performance at school and in my other endeavours for a considerable period.
It is very hard to say. I know that those who are seeking a SRS are to contact the Director of Health in my country before anything else. As I said in my initial post, I have done a thorough research online and don't seem to be able to find any gender professionals. Incidentally, the Director of Health's office is just 50 meters from my house. Do you believe I should contact them?
I understand that my situation is very different with these problems finding the right professional to consult with but I am very thankful th

Re: Introduction & Questions About Approaching Chemical Castration
I don't know how your health care system works but if your not comfortable seeing your family doctor by all means go to a clinic and ask for a different one. For me it was hard talking about my chronic pains in the testicles with a male doctor. I just opted for a female doctor. She was very good and got me to the right people.
If your going to be going through transition I think lowering your testosterone asap is a good goal. However it does come with lots of baggage. Depression, energy, moods, sexual issues. I think its worth considering going on Estrogen at the same time. Maybe set a goal of doing this for 6 months which is probably the limit where changes start to happen that are not easily reversable. Use that time to find out if this really is for you and take careful notes. Work with your shrink to make a plan for your transition and use your Doctor to insure your healthy while doing it *And to make certain your new hormone levels are proper. If during that time your comfortable with the changes you can make a longer term plan for transition. If its a fiasco you can back out without messing yourself up too badly.
Good luck & welcome to the zoo.

Re: Introduction & Questions About Approaching Chemical Castration
I too thought that a female doctor would be preferable. I am *only* seeking to become a eunuch though. Not female. I know that I mentioned SRS in my last post but that was just because bobbie mentioned transsexual doctors and I thought he meant that they could treat eunuch cases as well. Therefore I just mentioned that that is how transsexuals start their journey here; by talking to the Director of Health ( I don't even know if that is one person, a few or just the name of the 'organization' :S ).

Re: Introduction & Questions About Approaching Chemical Castration
ICELAND? You live in Iceland? Whoa. Lack of sunlight and cold weather and living on a small island would certainly send me into depression and make me have all kinds of fantasies. I was going to suggest that you find a support group in your local community, but that probably isn't much of a option in Iceland.
Amongst the limited resources in Iceland I would wonder if it were possible to find even a therapist and/or Dr. who might have adequate training and ability to be of assistance to you.
Go slow, think it through, talk it out with yourself. Maybe you are fortunate enough to have one close friend who can be your confidant. From experience I can share that at the age of 18 there is so much yet to experience and learn that you can't even begin to appreciate the real meaning of "Haste makes Waste". I'm not a therapist so it would be irresponsible for me to even attempt guidance except to provide empathy, support, and understanding. It will all work out, even if it doesn't seem like it now.

Oh yea, one quick follow up comment. I can't believe you actually got the pen name of "Peter Pan"; that no one had previously taken it. Bravo. Good for you.
