I’ve just started reading Paolo’s "XY-N" and am enjoying it thoroughly. It promises to be a great novel.

Thanks, FS. :)

One thing that really amazes me, though. According to the hit tracker of stories submitted to EA via the enhanced story form, XY-n has been hit EVERY DAY, every part, since November 2001.

Talk about lack of feedback ... but again, thanks. I thought I'd heard the last from it.

Just a note to everyone, and I wish I had the TIME to do this for everyone as well - feedback is important to Authors. I try and make it a point in the rare times that I get a chance to read anything that is not at EA. And that's not often. Just the other day, I happened to stumble over a story at Nifty.org (http://www.nifty.org) and read it. It was only about 100k, so I got through it pretty fast. I emailed the Author and told him that I liked it. Read a lot like Ray Bradbury, in fact. It was the first email he'd gotten since posting it, and it had been there a while. :(

So if you can, PLEASE take a moment to tell someone if you liked what they wrote.

;)

Well, there seems to be a problem as far as XY-n and I are concerned. I tried to post this feeback yesterday, but somehow it never got through. Oh well, I'll try again.

I somehow missed the last two chapters of XY-n, whether I was away or just didn't visit the board for a few days (althought that's hardly likely). But when I finally did realize they were there I literally sat staring at the screen until I had read every word.

XY-n is one of those stories, and they are precious few, that I MUST read again, and I will. The plot is very complex, and extrememly well done. Paolo has done a masterful job with this novel... one of the best I have read on any archive anywhere.

And that is from someone who normally isn't into science fiction. Superb job, Paolo! For those of you who have not read it, believe me it's YOUR loss.

Charlie,

Don't feel too bad about missing the stories, because you are not the only one. It was only when I spotted a posting about the last episode of XY-n that I realised that I had missed it, and this in spite of the fact that I visit the board most days.

Sometimes, I am alerted to a story because of feedback on the message board and when I look I find that it is 24 or even 48 hours old. I am positive that it was not there when I visited the board on that day.

Since I am located in the UK it is possible that the time difference might be a factor, but I think that there might be a 'glitch'. This evening, I noticed a story, 'St. Andrew's Cross - part 2' and realised that I did not recall seeing part 1 but found it in the previous day.

I now try to go back for a couple of days just to ensure that I do not miss anything, but if there are several stories posted on the same day it is easy to miss something. Frustrating, I know, but by checking the reviews, you can usually ensure that you do not miss a jewel.

LOL
