Slow steady progress towards castration

Hi,

I'm new to this group, and introduced myself a little more than a week ago.

As suggested, I've done a lot of reading, and am ready to start on chemical castration, leading to surgical castration and maybe beyond. I'm really intreagued by the smooth look, and maybe more - perhaps feminization, but I'm not sure, and there is plenty of time to decide.

I often move very slowly in making changes, and castration is no exception. But I have started down the road and hope that members here will help encourage me.

My first question is Do I HAVE to test my t level before I start? If so, it will delay things a bit.

I want to start on Siterone - 100 mg/ day.

My advice for what it is worth, start with your doctor, tell him your goal, have him/her run all the blood tests bone scan etc. this gives you a bench mark that the doctor can use to check your progress. As you said you have lots of time, take it.

I'm cautious about talking to my Doctor since so few are willing to participate in elective surgery to remove testicles. That is, of course my goal.

What are the risks if I start chemical castration without checking my t level?

The risks are that you do not know your starting levels of T. No way to see how much you are changing. You may find that you only need to reduce the T a little. No need to take more castration meds. Getting the bone scan is great to see the current level. Get a base line data. Then in a year or two you can retest and see what the difference is. You could already have some loss with out knowing.

I can understand the need for both, but want to start off with the Testosterone test. Is there a lab that will do the test for me without my first getting a Dr. to prescribe the test?

I do want to get started, but don't want to endanger my health.

I guess that it is possible that I'll want to stop the process, but the effects of sitrone sound OK to me. I'd be happy to eliminate all erections, shrink my penis. I'm ok with less upper body strength, and understand that the weakness will go away.

I'm a little concerned about the depression, but I'm sure I can handle it.

Sitrone is nothing really special in it having any effects. The effects you read about is really the effects of reduced testosterone.

Depression will occur. Evey one is different in the effects. It is hard to judge how it will effect you till you have reduced the testosterone.

Try Google. You might want to discuss this with your doctor. They are not as sheltered as you might think and they may be able to give you some help finding out what to do and why.

Doing this on your own without any input is (I think) an error.

Thanks, MrT for the advice on Google. I've found where I can get a Testosterone Test Kit, and will send for it in a few days.

I haven't gotten up the resolve to contact a urologist yet. I was really hoping that it would not be necessary. While I certainly want to have my testicles surgically removed, I just have not been willing to share that with anyone who I was not sure would be accepting of that situation..

It's great to get the perspective of those who are members of EA.

Mail order testosterone kits are generally based on saliva, not blood. While the two tests measure testosterone level, results are not always similar or necessarily directly comparable.

You can certainly do chemical castration on your own but if you are serious about having your testes removed surgically, you're probably going to involve a medical professional at some point unless you're willing to use a cutter or go offshore to have it done. It it a big leap to tell someone that you want to be castrated but you will have to cross that bridge eventually.
