I had my testosterone levels checked.
Total: 350
Free: 92.3
Is this normal for being 21 years old? It seems a little low to me.

Re: Had a testosterone level check
We can not answer that question. There should also be a scale that shows the normal range for that test. Different test have different ranges.
If you are on the scale that I am more use. To the score is on the lower side of normal. May I ask why you had the test done?

Re: Had a testosterone level check
total: 250-1080 ng/dl
Free: 50-210 ng/dl??? I'm not sure what measurement is used
I had the test done because I have a low sex drive, no morning erections, and difficulty getting an erection. I've never taken antiandrogens to my knowledge.
What are the permanent effects of taking antiandrogens? From what I've read it's the same things I'm currently experiencing. Also, are your total T and free T levels permanently lowered after taking antiandrogens?

Your numbers are on the low side. I would talk to your doctor for his advice. Taking male hormones can reduce the amount your body already makes. But if you body needs more then it is making. Then taking some extra should help.
Again you need to talk with your doctor to understand what options you have. Also the long term risks.
Wish you luck.

not sure why you are asking about antiandrogens if you feel that your T level is already low, do you want it lower

Re: Had a testosterone level check
For your age thats low but kind of on the border or where a doctor will initiate any treatment. Your symptoms may sway him/her into trying it. Before you do try to find out why they are low.
Also insure that your labs are done early morning. This should be your peak value.
If your failure is primary the testicles can't make enough testosterone and the best you can do it just replace and accept that this is probably doing to be your lot in life (Lifetime HRT)
If secondary the signals that tell your testicles to make hormones are low or missing. A problem with control "system" would be very important to look into. Why? It maybe simple. It might be that you need to take a drug that kick starts these signals like Clomid for a while (Or HCG) this often makes the testicles kick back into gear and your body can pick up again after a short run of drug therapy.
Good luck!

Re: Had a testosterone level check
When I went to the doctor for my lab results, he told me there's nothing to worry about and kinda pushed me out the door. If your T levels are suppressed for a long time i.e. months at a time, will your T level be permanently lowered? I was under an unusual amount of stress for over a year and I'm wondering if that could've done it. Two years ago I had a really high sex drive and now it's a chore to even get it up.
I had the test done a 8:45am.

Re: Had a testosterone level check
If your testosterone level was 350 with a scale that has 250 as the lower level, you are still well below the median range. I have found you have some ability to manipulate the test results, depending on your desired result. mrt is correct in a normal male, your T level is highest in the early AM when you first get up. So if you want the test to show you at your best, get the blood drawn as early as the lab opens. But on the other hand, if you'd like your test to show you at less than your best to influence your doctor to increase your T dosage, etc, go late in the afternoon just before the lab closes so your T level will be lower than an AM reading.
Sexual activity and an orgasm will also lower your testosterone level for quite some time- even for a day or more. If you want a low T reading, have sex or masturbate a couple hours before your blood is drawn.
You might want to ask for another T test and try these concepts or find a more understanding and compasionate doctor while the free market still exists.
