I think it's easy to overstate the importance of biological determination when we talk about these issues. It's reasonable to expect that a man who loses his testes due to accident, disease or assault is much more likely to use HRT since he was not seeking the loss of testosterone. I myself have used HRT occasionally to combat fatigue, but as a general rule I prefer to do without it. However I see this as my choice, just as my castration was my choice and not the result of any predetermination. Part of the "adjustment" we're talking about here is the process of deciding whether or not to use HRT. Each of us must find what works for him individually.

Half life of testosterone is 5 days. 3 weeks post snip yields the same amount testosterone in a man as a post menstrual woman.

Men who are medically able for and desire HRT have a real puppy trying to sync dosages to real life conditions.

Those unable or unwilling to use HRT deal with hot flashes and intensity of emotions. Tendency to cry rises exponentially to the point that a good cry can be just as emotionally satisfying as sex itself! Sexual desire quietly fades. Eventually, you realize your sexual impotence but this doesn't bother you. There are so many things in life you enjoy that sexual thoughts have low or no place on your list of things to do today.

Either way (HRT or no) castration changes your personality. If you use HRT, you might find balancing hormones is as easy as balancing a canoe on your chin. This is reflected as an erratic personality. Also, many males find HRT no panacea for sexual problems and suffer feelings of inadequacy. The men who cannot (cancer, etc.) or choose not (for any number of personal reasons) to avail themselves of HRT will exhibit the personality and behaviour of a castrate.

Personality changes MAY be less for men castrated later in life. Castration certainly (and adversely) greatly affects the personalities of young men.

It boils down to one's own expectations and attitude to his castration.

Hi everyone,

I read lots of posts from you guys who say they have been castrated and I must say I am a bit jealous (LOL).

I am desperately looking for someone to castrate me ... without success !!!!

Could someone please help me ... tell me where to find someone willing to castrate me?

Quick definition of the personality of a castrate is: Interactions with people causes many to consider him lower in the pecking order (less aggressive, less bold, less outspoken, less etc....).

Quick definition of the behaviour of a castrate is: His quiet acquiescence of the concomitant lower esteem from his peers.

To summarize: A (non HRT) castrate acts like a man who's balls have been cut off.

I've been voluntarily and surgically castrated for 11 months now. I really like not having any unwanted sexual urges. The hot flashes are the only things that really bother me. I have noticed a loss of upper body strength, but then I never had much anyway.

My heart goes out to those whose castration was unwanted or traumatic. That is not a good way to go....

I do admit to having some second thoughts about castration from time to time. Surgical castration is final, with no turning back. But the results are mostly to my liking, so there is nothing to do but to accept my situation.

It was the right choice for me.

I cannot say that I have noticed any personality change, since I am still just as ornery as before. I still consider myself an "Alpha male" and behave as such. I think that a wimpy personality has nothing to do with whether you have balls or not.

One year ago we were very worried and praying for you. Your posts indicated a very tormented soul. You had major decisions to make and I can fully understand the cacophony of thoughts racing through your mind.

Now I can clearly see the "Alpha male" aspects of Kangan. You've made many positive changes to your personality since castration.

You are to me a "poster child" of castration's benefits for the right individual.

I agree with you

that a wimpy personality has nothing to do with

testicles. It takes "balls" to make the decisions and take the actions you felt needed for improving your life.

You have my respect, friend!
