Starting Androcur

I just placed my order for my first round of Androcur. I expect to begin by taking 50mg twice a day. I hope to reduce/control my insanely over-active sex drive without completely eliminating it. We'll see...

I wanted to hear from anyone who's tried it about their experiences, especially whether anyone has suffered any of the "Severe but Rare" side effects. Also, how long did it take to notice a change? What dosage did you try? Did your genitals really shrink, and if so, did they return to their previous size when you stopped taking Androcur? If you stopped taking it, did you notice ANY lasting effects?

If I can't simply maintain and control my sex drive, I'll try higher doses and see what it's like to live without the drive. If that seems okay, I'll be considering the surgery.

But I'm also in a very competitive and creative business (Filmmaking) and I wonder how Androcur or Castration will affect my other "drives", like the drive to succeed. Or what about my appreciation of a "sexy" image? I'm not talking about a sexual image, but other images can be sexy (like a sports car, etc), will my appreciation of, and ability to create such things be affected by having little or no sex drive? Obviously, finding the answers to these questions is why I'm trying the Androcur instead of going straight for surgery, but I'm curious about others results.

And finally, has anyone foudn a place to order it that's cheaper than $136 per 50 tablets that doesn't require a prescription?

i can only speak for myself and my week and a half of androcur.

i began 200mg/day a week ago monday (100 morning 100 evening). i'm still on that regiment. i do plan on reducing to 150/day soon and then 100/day soon after.

it affected my sex drive after 5 days and continues to lessen it. the feeling i get from it is, well calming but also clear headed. my reason for taking this is to; #1 - prove that its the testosterone that is poisioning me (see my original post "my turn") and #2 - to prove that castration is my savior (which will hopefully lead to physical castration by years end). so far, i'm 100% sure. my wife has said that she needs 6 months on the androcur to prove it.

i have not had any side effects but my time in is short. i suggest you chat with riverwind as he's been on it for six months.

i am not as competitive as you are, at least not anymore (i've made my mark in my field and am not driven to prove myself anymore) but i do still love the things that thrilled me before. doing 120+ in my 97 taurus sho, crusing in my antique 66 tbird convertible (hey, THAT'S where i got my nick!) and the growingly rare occasion that i make love to my wife. i can say that the latter is actually better as it is no longer a quicky but, take for instance last night, its 20+ minutes long.

i already have no regrets and am looking forward to my one month period when i'm supposed to be rid of the horrible T.

if i could impart any advise, be patient and see your doctor. you'll need to keep an eye on you red blood count (that's the bad side effect, your liver function).

I have been using it sense September, I love the effects of being a eunuch, I will finally get cut this summer. I have been taking 200 mg per day but started cutting back to 150 this week.
