Accessing the Archives from public terminals

JUST adjust the settings of the browser to no pictures(graphics), before logging in, in Firefox it's under the Tools tab options, then the content and uncheck load images.

Go to the User CP on the forums menu bar. Click on Edit Options. Scroll down to Thread Display Options. Uncheck the Show Avatars box. Scroll down. Click Save. No more avatars will show up when you log in.

VERY GOOD ADVICE. I knew of this option, but didn't think of why or when to use it. Thanks for making the suggestion.

Is it possible to deselect only the couple of obnoxious avatars on this site or do I have to deselect them all at once? I like most of them and they won't get me thrown out of public places. It's only the two that I either have to avoid or else move the window to the left. I don't bother moving the window to the left. I just avoid the dweeb. And I don't want to disconnect all of the avatars either. C'est la vie.
