I'm wondering though, should I also have my prostate removed? What are your thoughts/experiences?

Prostate removal
I'm looking forward to having a total penectomy and castration soon!

Re: Prostate removal
The only time I would go with prostate removal surgery is if it absolutely positively had to be done to save my life, for example if I had prostate cancer. Otherwise, NO WAY!
Castration is a fairly simple surgery. Prostate removal is not. Prostate removal is very complex major surgery. There is risk of serious bleeding. You will probably be somewhat incontinent for a time, perhaps permanently. It often requires a significant recovery period. And all this even with the new modern robotic surgery techniques. Prostate removal and its aftercare would also be very expensive. My understanding is that in the earlier stages of prostate cancer many urologists prefer using radiation and chemo, even castration and hormone therapy, rather than prostate removal because of how invasive and complicated prostate surgery is.
In other words, unless you have a major life threatening condition like prostate cancer, do not even consider prostate removal.

Re: Prostate removal
Good advice. In comparison, both castration and a penectomy are simple surgeries.
However and as you probably know, as long as you have a prostate gland you can ejaculate, even should you become a complete 'nullo.' If you're objective is to remove your sexuality, being castrated w/o HRT and having a radical penectomy (removal of the entire shaft and root) should get you most of the way there.
