Cat Bohannon's book "Eve" - castrated men live longer

I'm located in the UK and subscribe to the The Guardian newspaper online. It's a left of centre journal that uniquely is not owned by a big media company, and funded by its readers. An article yesterday caught my eye. The tag line was "Men and other mammals live longer if castrated". Cat is a PhD ...

Re: Trying to clear up a few uncertainties before starting Chem Castration

I've just had my first experiment with Siterone (Siproterone Acetate). I followed the dose suggested by the specialist I saw last year and went with 25mg daily. I found that within a few days my libido had dropped right off - very pleasing! I only took the drug for 10 days this first time. Side ...

Re: Trying to clear up a few uncertainties before starting Chem Castration

I'm just starting a trial for similar reasons. My consultant here in the UK has started me on 25mg of Siterone daily, which he's said we can increase to 50mg if the 25mg does does not give results. Literally day one today so we'll see what this trial brings!

Re: Hello - who I am and why I'm here.

Bit of an update. I found a urologist here in the UK who included orchiectomy in his list of procedures. I arranged a 30 min video consultation with him. He listened to my story and (quite rightly) pointed out the side effects of an orchy (which are well documented on this site). He suggested I have ...

Re: Side Effects vs. Age?

All the feedback is useful thanks. I have managed to book a phone consultation with a UK surgeon to discuss the option of orchiectomy, preceded by a period on suitable drugs to establish how I am going to feel with almost zero testosterone. I'm pleasantly surprised to find someo0ne who has not just ...

Re: Side Effects vs. Age?

Thanks for the feedback. As I mentioned in an earlier post my reasons for contemplating this are a libido that refuses to die (and causes much subsequent frustration as neither my wife or I are not interested in sex) and also getting rid of that male aggression / anger that testosterone fuels. I ...

Side Effects vs. Age?

As I continue to ponder the option of an Orchiectomy I'm curious to find out how the range and severity of the side effects might vary with age. As a 64 y/o am I going to find some of the side effects are less than in a younger man? Any experience or research out there on this?

Re: Hello - who I am and why I'm here.

Thanks for the feedback. My research suggests that a drug to reduce testoterone levels and simulate the effects of an orchiectomy could be cyproterone acetate, and it looks to be available via the internet without prescription. I also read a paper that said only very low levels are needed to achieve ...

Hello - who I am and why I'm here.

I'm a 63 y/o straight happily married man living in the UK. My interest in castration come initially from a wish to be rid of my still active libido (I've not had sex in 15 years or more and have no interest in it) and also to reduce my underlying levels of anxiety and anger. Being sterile is not an ...
