Three months post orchiectomy
Well, first of all, doing great overall! Very pleased, no pain of any type, fun to touch.
Physically: I still have two tiny "suture granulomas," one on each end of the surgical wound. If the scrotal skin weren't slightly puckered (there are three layers of skin inside ...

Re: Empty scrotum
I've had the same issue, definitely have done a lot of calling and checking around locally. Lots of misadventures. One plastic surgeon agreed to take a look and then admitted he had not even done a urology rotation, and couldn't understand why I wouldn't want implants. Local urologist who lists as ...

Re: Now it's My Turn!
NVR, great update. You sound like you're doing very well and happily moving along. I understand now why eunuchs seem to drop off of the site after their goal has been reached... you just sort of slip back into the routine but the incredible drive and the need for these resources and discussion is ...

2 months post orchiectomy
Well, lots of updates so let's dive right in. Thanks to NVR for asking and to others who've posted or sent words of encouragement.
Physically, the wound is great, healed up nicely. Looks like a little pucker wound though, the scrotum sort of folds in on itself there, I ...

Re: questions about estrogen
I thought Tamoxifen blocks E? Taking both would be like taking testosterone + antiandorgen wouldn't it?
Maybe I am mistaken on how Tamoxifen works?
Yeah, I was confused on this too and had to dig into it a bit. Tamoxifen is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM). It only blocks the ...

Re: questions about estrogen
If combine tamoxifen with low dose estrogen you will not get feminisation http://www.drugs.com/tamoxifen.html Yes a low dose of estrogen will help with the adverse effects of low T. a patch or gel would be better than tablets.
I'm meeting my physician next week for an appointment. She's ...

Re: Ouch...
How long does it take for the major swelling to subside? I know the cords will take months to shrink down, but I'm wondering about the tons of fluid in my scrotum.
Hmm, I think my hugely swollen cords were implicated in my swelling, but for the first week or so I wasn't at all sure if I had a ...

Re: Doing orchioectomy as blood free as possible?
I have a few questions and I hope some might shed some light into this:
Incredibly bad, terrible idea. It can be quite involved and problematic even under a surgeon's care (I've just gone through it). Major and very likely risks include hemorrhage and infection is very likely. Fournier ...

4.5 weeks post orchiectomy
Not much to update in the last week or so because there hasn't been a lot of change. Tiny, tiny improvements from day to day in terms of the drainage of straw-colored fluid from the center and edge of the wound where the drain was. A tiny dab of more gooey pus ...

Re: Ouch...
Jared, congratulations and buckle up! It's a little bit of a ride but for me currently at jut over 4 weeks from Dr. A's office, everyday mostly gets better. The first week was a challenge. Just standing and sitting were a challenge, and you will give your body a chance to heal with gentle/snug ...
