Re: Prostate cancer. How many men and eunuchs on here have prostate cancer worries ?
It seems that it isn't known. But chemical castration would ordinarily be done at the time of radiation treatment, for a limited duration (it isn't necessary with surgery). Then, if the cancer has spread or recurs, chemical or physical castration would be used to slow the spread of the disease.

Re: Prostate cancer. How many men and eunuchs on here have prostate cancer worries ?
I'm guessing you're at low risk considering the age at which you transitioned, but in the absence of scientific evidence (of which we're aware), who really knows? Results can be paradoxical . . . or T deprivation resistant cancer cells might prosper in the absence of non-resistant cells (the basis I ...

Re: Prostate cancer. How many men and eunuchs on here have prostate cancer worries ?
Transgender males still get prostate cancer after transition if they have a prostate. Castration as an adult does not prevent PC, however, once it's there, castration, chemical or surgical can stop its growth.
I think the question is what, if any, protection occurs when males transition at a ...

Re: Prostate cancer. How many men and eunuchs on here have prostate cancer worries ?
Studying transgender males is an excellent idea.
I've read that while castration is the most effective treatment for disseminated prostate cancer, most men choose to take testosterone blockers for emotional reasons. This is true even though they need only remove the core of the testes, leaving ...

It makes me wonder how many men have family histories of prostate cancer that cause them to think about castration as ...

Re: Prostate cancer. How many men and eunuchs on here have prostate cancer worries ?
I was just operated on for prostate cancer in April of 2018. Since I have been rendered pretty much impotent, should I consider castration? I got interested in castration originally due to bad testicular pain. Now, I would like to beat cancer and stay alive.
If the cancer was localized, the ...

Re: At what age were you aware of castration?
Heh, yeah, it was the late 60's and still a bad time for gay kids. Even people like my parents and the shrink I saw who wanted to "help" you could go horribly wrong. Fortunately, Stonewall happened in 1969, when I was 15, and after that you didn't need to fear arrest in NYC. But kids who were in the ...
