Re: Some improvements

Dear Tallula,

Don't worry about the date. We authors don't need "fairness."

It's not a race or a competition.

We just want to know how many people clicked on our stories.

However, I would favor a "most popular stories" feature, by whatever criteria you want to set it up, because it might direct ...

Re: Some improvements

Dear Sirs:

I don't mean to sound like a crank here, constantly bitching about things, but, although I am grateful to see a hit counter on the stories, the current version is not cutting it.

As an author I don't care that much about how many people checked out my stories today. What I want to see ...

Re: Byzantium Series

BZwriter launched many of my own fantasies as well. I love the way he conveys a sort of matter-of-factness into his tales. Yeah, you're gonna be castrated, hunky young teen, that's the way it is.

I've tried to incorporate that attitude into some of my own stories, but BZwriter remains the master ...

Re: Some improvements

I'm embarrassed to show my face here after my intemperate remarks. I don't know what got into me; that's not my style at all. I guess I was experiencing a bitchiness overload that day and just needed to blow off steam. I certainly didn't mean to attack anyone at a personal or professional level.

My ...

Fuck off, authors

Not only is there no hit counter in the new story format, there is no link to the author's email.

No one posts to the forum, except for a circle jerk of about a half a dozen people, so you might as well leave your story in Microsoft Word for all the recognition you'll get here.

I appreciate the ...

Re: Just As Busy As It Ever Was

So why not a hit counter? Throw us content providers a fucking bone.

Re: Questions about the new Fiction Archive. No Complaints, please.

Oddly enough, I just rechecked the story segment I complained about and it now seemed fine on my browser. I guess the way character sets are translated is quirky and might depend on what other sites you visit.

So, I'll shut up and just enjoy the stories. I'm looking forward to when we can post new ...

Re: Questions about the new Fiction Archive. No Complaints, please.

I'm thrilled to see that one of my stories, "Chad's Adjustment" has been edited and reappears on the fiction archive. I like the new format, and I think the editor cleaned up a few typos from my original. However, in part 3 some odd characters have been introduced, at least in my browser, Firefox ...

Re: Unable to access the fiction archive

OK, now that I have backup from some other authors I'll pipe up again to plead for a hit counter. I've gotten direct feedback via forum posts and emails on only one of my stories, but it was gratifying to see via the hit counter that the other ones were being read. Writers thrive on knowing someone ...

Re: Unable to access the fiction archive

I'm grateful for all the fine work of archive administrators and volunteers. Sorry if I came across as an ingrate. My intent was to offer suggestions for features I thought would be useful for writers and readers, not to gripe about the lack of them at this moment. Programming is well outside my ...
