Re: A Lil History

I will point out that our diseases killed far more Native Americans than those killed by fighting. I am curious why our diseases were so much more devastating for Americans than vice versa.

Transward

Indians (native american to be more proper) had never been exposed to smallpox, measels and ...

Re: There's Always The Weather

Here in Central Oregon my electronic thermometer says 101 right now and I have the outside sensor under the eaves in the shade. Re: There's Always The Weather

Losing a four legged companion is always a great loss, so sorry to hear about your feline friend. My best wishes go out to you.

On the east side of the cascades, storm after storm, giving us a nice snow pack and extending the studded tire deadline till April 9. another (up to) 20 inches of snow ...

Re: Dick Cheney

this is the only time that I wish the conservative "death panels" were a reality and that I could be on that one. :-). Otherwise my thoughts and concern for Cheney are zip. My guess is the time waiting was for a compatible heart, probably more to matching than checking blood type.

Re: There's Always The Weather

Central Oregon (and the washington /oregon cascades) is stuck in a dry spell. Beautiful bluebird days here in Central Oregon, but mornings are a bit brisk, 7 today at 07:00 (we have had 20 below in early february in years past, but still 7 this time of year is a bit rough).

worst is that our ski ...

This morning 2" of snow in the front yard, more falling here and maybe a foot more today just to the west in the cascades. I love winter :-).

Re: Elastrator

I don't believe I have yet seen an example of an elastrator being used without a trip to the hospital at one point or the other. Just not a good idea, leaving a rotting piece of flesh attached to your body. Anyway just my thoughts.
