Re: Will castration, Surgical or Chemical, affect ones happiness and joy in life?

I lost my testicles over a decade ago to severe orchialgia, and have been adjusting T levels with my endocrinologist to try and keep everything at a decent level in terms of energy and libido. The good part is that as my wife's libido drops as she hits menopause, we can dial back my T levels to keep ...

Re: wife's issues

I'm curious as to why the nerve block surgeries would fail. A neurectomy or neurotomy should mean there is no neural connection to the testicle. Further removal shouldn't help if you had pain after a neurotomy ... what happened in your case?

Hi SplitDik,

In my case they didn't sever the ...

Re: Flatbagger

Wellesley,

T injection levels can be adjusted to keep you at a happy point. You don't have to go to pre-op levels, if your energy levels are good then you can keep a lower level without having as much in the way of sex drive. It can also help with keeping you healthy as well since high testosterone ...

Re: wife's issues

I admit as well, I hated having to take pain medication, whether for my headaches or my testicular pain. I didn't want to be high on opiates or narcotics--I wanted to be normal!!!

I am finally off all pain medications, trying to control my headaches with the regimen from a new doctor. My testicles ...

Re: wife's issues

Wellesley,

I can't tell you how to proceed, but I can tell you my story. Pain medications can actually be a *BAD* thing when it comes to testosterone levels. I spent several years on high dose opiod pain medications to try and control severe headache pain. This eventually killed testosterone ...

Re: Low voltage electric self-castration

OK, I guess I'll chime in here, being a practicing electronics engineer...

People are correct about the fact that it is not the voltage that kills, but the amperage. Voltage is like a hill--anything on top of that hill has the potential to do something harmful to someone down below. Amperage is ...

Re: After Surgical Castration

I too had serious testicular pain (orchialgia), mine was from HRT. I had been on high dose opiate medications for nasty headaches and it apparently stopped my normal T production. When I went on T replacement therapy, I had a horrible time.

They first put me on a T patch, but after a couple of ...

Re: One year after

Congratulations on your one year of being pain-free! It sounds like you had to go through hell before your castration. I hope that things are going well for you now.

Hell is putting it mildly. I know many guys I work with were cringing every day when I walked in to work. I went in to the ...

One year after

So, it's been a year now since the urologist over at Stanford did my bilateral orchiectomy for the severe orchalgia I was experiencing. 🙏 Thank you so much, Dr. C!!!🤘

This came about from the medications I take for my cluster headaches completely wiping out my natural testosterone production ...

Re: orchiectomy done right

I had a simple bilateral orchiectomy done under general anesthetic by a urologist at Stanford for extreme orchalgia. He went the scrotal route, but did an incision on each side horizontally instead of a single vertical midline incision that you hear about most people doing.

I think because of the ...
