I use a freeware program called SnapNDrag for the mac. you just click on the program draw a box around what part of the screen you want and it creates a JPG file which you just drag to where you want to keep it.

Can definitely also recommend Torchwood. Also another UK show Being Human. Other shows I like to watch -- From FX: Rescue Me, Sons of Anarchy, and Nip/Tuck. From Showtime: Dexter, Weeds, United States of Tara, The Tudors.
