Re: dr arnkoff new website

Just checking in to see if anyone has considered Dr. Arnkoff recently. Does he still charge $3000 for orchiectomy or penectomy? And does he still do them on Saturday mornings?

Re: WPATH Standards of Care, version 8

1) I was castrated at 49, and in retrospect would have preferred to have been castrated at a young age, maybe in my 20s. My only hesitation thinking back is that, if I had found the right mate, I would have liked to have had children. I found a doctor to castrate me as I was about to turn 50 because ...

Re: Orchiectomy Scheduled!!!

That's great news. Congrats!

Do you know if your surgery will be through the scrotum or inguinally through the abdomen? And under local or general anesthesia? Mine was local through the scrotum, and I healed easily. Good luck!!!

Re: Hello

Hi. I'm not straight, but I wanted to let you know that my age definitely made a difference when I asked my urologist to be castrated. He was very reluctant to castrate, despite my complaints of pain, me for two reasons: the permanence of sterility and the lack of testosterone. I already had near ...

Hi, smithpak. Are you still set to visit Dr. Arnkoff? Hope all's well.

Anyone else visiting or visited the good doctor in Detroit recently?

Re: Calcium Chloride and Other Salt Injections for Castration

My urologist would not do a biopsy, and I doubt most would. He explained that the only reason to do a biopsy is to determine whether a lump is cancerous, and Flo is right -- a biopsy of a testicle would disturb the cancer and cause it to spread. A good doctor would remove the testicle before he ever ...

Re: Ouch...

Jared -- Thanks again for the updates. How do you feel after 4 months? All healed? Cords shriveled up? Would love to see how your sac hangs now. Any thought of posting a link to an "all healed" pic of your scrotum?
