Re: Advice
Don't count on surgery to make you calm or kill your sex drive or anything. I can tell you, post-op you're likely to have horrible mood swing, suffer from severe fatigue, and then end up being just about the same. I had an orchiectomy as part of a gender-reassignment process 3 months ago, and I can ...

Re: Estrogens trigger osteoporosis
DO NO believe one study that shows "estrogen makes osteoporosis worse." I cannot believe someone on this board would be so irresponsible as to suggest that estrogen actually CAUSES osteoporosis.
Time and time again, estrogen has been shown to be effective in the treatment and prevention of ...

Re: Castrating Boys And Adolescents
No, no, and NO. There is obviously a distubing number of people on here who fantasize about children, particularly chilren who become mutilated/castrated for some reason. That's bad enough. To want to castrate children so they can attain some imagined state of "choirboy" or whatever the hell it is ...

My Response To Questions
Someone e-mailed me asking me questions about my surgery. I'm transgendered and had orchiectomy with Dr. Reed on May 3rd. I'm very happy with my surgery, but had complications with my hormone therapy that required me to temporarily stop taking estrogen. Anyway, this is the response I sent to this ...

Re: Back From Orchiectomy in Florida
Everything is still going ok. I had a few mild mood swings around the one week mark, but other than that I feel fine from the surgery. I did have a hormone therapy problem, though. Apparently, post op the 2mg of estradiol I had been taking is WAY too high, and I developed a severe migraine, nausea ...

Re: Date set June 3rd
BE SURE to get on Fosamax or similar right away post surgery. Otherwise you can rapidly develop osteoporosis, if you don't plan on taking HRT. I take a small dose of estrogen, but I have also started taking calcium as well just to be on the safe side.

Re: Date set June 3rd
Good luck with your surgery. You're even younger than I am (I am 25) and I hope that you have thought this through long and hard. Take it easy post-op, too. I feel pretty good but I still force myself to rest up since I am only 4 days post surgery.

Surgery With Dr. Reed
I have been home 2 days now after my orchiectomy with Dr. Reed in Florida on Tuesday. I had a wonderful experience, the doctor and his staff were top notch, and my results are incredible. I am 110% happy, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Reed Center for this kind of work. He completely removed ...

Back From Orchiectomy in Florida
Well, I am back from my orchiectomy surgery. I had it done in Florida by Dr. Reed, and I cannot say enough nice things about him. The surgery went great, I had little to no pain for discomfort, and his staff his top notch (Anne and Henry are both angels.) Even working through a small, one ince ...

Estratest?
Anyone tried this? It's a hormone replacement med that is mostly estrogen with a little bit of tesosterone thrown in. I'm planning on sticking to my estradiol post op (surgery May 2nd) but if I end up too fatigued or what not, I might look in to this.
