Re: Makes sense

From my 66 year old point of view, gay rights are human rights no less than gaining rights for black Americans or Women.

As a historian, you are no doubt well aware of the well documented, egregious denial of various rights to life & liberty (particularly liberty to participate in the case of ...

Re: Makes sense

What exactly are "gay rights"? As opposed to, say, "human rights", for example.

Prescribing a set of rights applicable only to a specific group seems intuitively unhealthy. Although the Nazis and Communists enjoyed some success with it. For a while, anyway.

Re: Are there any bodybuilders or muscular men out there who have been nullified?

That would be me. I was 6.5ft, 240 in high school. Got cut about 20 years ago, and am still pretty big. Down to 6' 2" and 220. Also I bench press only about 200 as to almost 400 before I was gelded. But I'm also 20 years older (60+). I was naturally big as a young man. Since getting cut, I've had to ...

Re: BMWs

I had a couple BMWs back in the 70's and 80's. They were company cars, so I drove them under orders, not by choice. But based on how often the vehicles had to go in for "routine" service, I concluded that they weren't built as well as the marketing hype would have us believe. In contrast, we have a ...

Re: Spectacular Weather Experiences

Before retiring, being snowed in made for great stress in my life. How could I get out to visit customers and such? Now it just means making another pot of coffee and tossing another log on the fire.

But in the back of my mind is concern for all those who must stand and deliver in order to feed the ...

Re: DV Wild Flowers

I just drove thru Gil's valley. It is actually quite a pretty western valley. I was surprised at this late date that yellow flowers still lined the road into Clayton Valley.

Hope you got lots of touring in Gil. I wasn't there for most of the year, but it looks like one to be remembered.

Was ...

DV Wild Flowers

Rode across Death Valley with friends today. Had lunch over in Olancha, CA, then rode back. The wild flowers are just about ready to pop. All they are now is a green carpet, almost looks like a lawn. But I’ve seen the signs many a time. Last was ’05. In a week or two, the wild flowers are going to ...

Is the mt16 the Ruskie knock off of the the 70's vintage BMW tourer? A cool bike.

MLB OMG I would just as soon watch paint dry.

Baseball the most boring sport in the world,
