Re: November 2024 New Stories

No kidding, this month is an absolute CROWD of new stories. Thanks to all the authors!

And to you, Paolo, for doing the work and giving the effort to get them posted. And writing, too; you worked on Heironymous's new one. You are generous beyond expectations! Thanks again.

Re: Time Share Exit

I've just watched a pair of videos where the hosts expose time share exit companies as frauds.

My main takeaway from a bit of research (I don't own one, but have a friend in Canada struggling with this) is you need to find a lawyer who has done work in this field.

It's not a great answer ...

Re: There's Always The Weather

2 weeks ago, the ice/snow in shade was still going but days were +10c, night was -10c.

Last weekend was +15c, nights around zero.

Tues, Wed, Thurs and Friday were blowing snow, -15 evenings...!!

Today, it was 18c, and the snow is all gone.

This is the Wasteland of the Canadian Prairies :).

Re: April 2024 New Stories

SO cool to see something from the long-serving story-writer CvanD. A fresh gem of the Simon world.

These aren't really just 'stories' he writes for us. They are missives from a nearby other dimension. We've watched Simon and friends grow and develop over two decades almost in real time.

I get the ...

Re: There's Always The Weather

-14c here, but almost no wind, and at least SOME snow on the ground (patches of green in my lawn, but roads are pretty treacherous with frozen, bumpy ice that was melted a few days ago).

Not totally unusual for the area, but a normal winter would have us at -25 and snow piled up a foot deep around ...

Re: October 2023 New Stories

I'm beside myself over here.

In the last week Paolo has received and posted stories from both Prudence (Welcome back!!) and Heironomous, two of my favorites who are pretty rare posters, and not long ago from perhaps the longest-serving storywriter besides Paolo, C van D.

And that's only to mention ...

Re: Quiet Labor Day Weekend?

It's one of the few "Stats" (Statutory Holidays) that most people get off with pay in Canada. Others are Christmas, New Years, Family Day (called different things by different Provinces) and one or two others.

I've succeeded in doing nothing but make myself lunch and dinner, with one load of ...

Re: Should we be protesting the Barbie movie?

The only recent (and ancient) appropriation that continues even now in plays, is the habit directors have had through the decades of casting WOMEN as Peter Pan.

I was an underdeveloped, consciously gay little nerdling of a 10 year old when Mom and Dad told us we were going to a play about Peter Pan ...

Re: do eunuchs fall in love?

I am not a eunuch, just a wannabe, but I've had quite low testosterone my whole life. Not enough for doctors to insist I need hormone supplements, but low enough they've considered it.

That said, I've been single all my life, but whether it's an incapacity to love, I can't say; I think I do, but ...

Re: Language

Paolo, have you tried watching Lower Decks? It's really quite fun, but not entirely frivolous.
