Re: Don't shoot your daughter's boyfriend in the nuts!
I wouldn't be surprised if it were. I have a Taurus Judge 3" Magnum revolver and it is a formidable weapon, especially when loaded with .410 shotshells.

Re: Exciting fuel cell advance!!! A game changer?
I have been waiting for this development for years: a fuel cell which does not require hydrogen as a fuel. Contrary to much hype in recent years, hydrogen is not the "fuel of the future" . It is too expensive to extract and to liquefy and store. A fuel cell which can use natural or bio-gas is a ...

Re: Castration and opera
Concerning the recordings by Alessandro Moreschi, the last castrato, he cut six sides for the Gramophone and Typewriter Co. in 1902 and 1904. Mr. Gaisberg of G&T sought to record the voices of both "Professor" Moreschi and Pope Leo XIII.

Re: The Other Side of a Male Fantasy
I have written about 17 stories from the viewpoint of the castrator. Some of them are told in the third person, but still from the castrator's viewpoint. Most of my stories are told from the viewpoint of an external impartial observer who is not involved in the story. I find that type of story ...

What is going to happen when the Mayan calendar winds down in 2012 is that the Mayans are going to start another calendar. BIG DEAL !

Re: An Inconvenient Truth
My choice of "Mediterranean" for the climate of the "Climatic Optimum" was ill-chosen. I was thinking mainly in terms of average temperatures and latitude. However, I cannot help wondering whether such a short period of time is long enough for such a major change in the flora to occur.

Re: An Inconvenient Truth
Allow me to state my qualifications to pontificate on this subject. I am a geologist. I have studied paleoclimatology. I have also taught meteorology. I do, then, know something about it.
That said, let's get one thing clear. GLOBAL WARMING DOES EXIST. This has been known for most of the 20th ...

Is lapsang souchong still available in the US ? I haven't seen it in years. I figured that some laboratory rat died after drinking 50 gallons of it and it was therefore declared potentially toxic.

Re: Are you really wanting to close?
This rumour raises an important question in my mind, however. Suppose that eventually the EA DOES close, what will happen to the stories ? As the author of about 120 of them, this is of great concern to me. This is my literary legacy [Lah de Dah !] and I don't think that I have copies of all of them.

Re: Water and its Importance in Your Diet
I drink a gallon of bottled water a week. I drink bottled water because I oppose fluoridation of public water supplies. Many years ago, I asked my dentist "If fluoridation works, why are you still in business ?" His reply was interesting. "Very simple, it doesn't work" This is what I had suspected ...
